Artist Reimagines Popular Cartoon Characters As Real-Life Beings

At some point in our childhood, all of us had the innocent wish of meeting our favorite cartoon characters. It’s not an exaggeration to say that even after becoming adults, deep inside our hearts, we still root for these characters. We still get excited when we see them on the TV, and still, shamelessly sit down to relive those simpler times whenever we get free time.

Dito Von Tease is an Italian illustrator who redesigned some of the most popular childhood characters as real-life beings. Whether your favorite character is Scooby-Doo the hilarious mystery-solver, Bugs Bunny from Looney Tunes, or Muttley from Wacky Races, Dito’s got everything covered.

People are attached to their favorite cartoons on an emotional level due to several reasons. One reason is that they never failed to fill our hearts up with so many different emotions, such as happiness, warmth, mystery, and excitement.

Cartoons made our childhood extremely fun and interesting. They also introduced us to different types of personalities and made us explore new places, worlds, and dimensions. Needless to say, cartoons are indeed a child’s first encounter with the outside world.

Dito Von Tease began his ‘Ditology’ project in 2009. Dito means ‘finger’ in Italian, and he disguised his fingers as popular characters that appeared on news, politics, arts, historical events, etc, to represent an ancient Italian metaphor, “Hide myself behind my finger”. He believes that in this digital era where everything is just a click away, many people live not-so-genuine lives behind “touch screens, mousepads, and keyboards”.
